The CHESS Vendor Team established a creative intersegmental agreement with WAXIE Sanitary Supply which is projected to save millions annually for the three systems.

The CHESS Legislative Team proposed and saw implemented AB 653 which enabled CCC districts to contract under the same terms lawfully awarded to UC and CSU.

“Nothing in this code shall preclude the governing board of a community college district from purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, or services under the same terms and conditions as are specified in a contract lawfully awarded by the University of California or the California State University.”

CHESS e-procurement Team analyzed spend data and products/services provided by common vendors operating e-catalog systems; various vendors were identified where intersegmental cost savings could be sought; working with identified/under the new enabling legislation the CCC anticipates saving millions annually.
